DAVAO CITY — Seventy years ago, a modest enterprise took root in Davao, guided by a vision grounded in service, perseverance, and faith in the promise of Mindanao. On 04 December 2025, that vision came full circle as the Alcantara Group gathered at Dusit Thani Residence Davao to mark seven decades of operations under the theme “Seventy Years Strong: Forward Together.”

More than an anniversary, the event traced the Group’s evolution from Conrado Alcantara and Sons, Inc. (CASI), founded in the mid-1950s, to its present position as one of the country’s diversified Filipino-owned conglomerates. Through an exhibit and program, guests were presented with key phases of expansion across industries, including power generation through Alsons Power, agriculture and aquaculture through Alsons Agribusiness, and property development through Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev).

Held in the city where the company was established, the event highlighted the values cited by the Group as guiding its operations across generations, including innovation shaped by responsibility, growth guided by stewardship, and an emphasis on community impact. The anniversary exhibit featured milestones from the past seven decades, documenting the company’s expansion from a Mindanao-based enterprise to a national business group.

The program also recognized the role of employees, partners, and host communities in the Group’s growth, underscoring their contribution to its long-term operations.

“We owe this milestone to the men and women across generations who helped shape the Alcantara Group into what it is today,” said Nicasio I. Alcantara, chairman of the Alcantara Group. “What has kept us strong is a spirit of unity and service—growth that uplifts both people and communities.”

Alcantara led the commemorative toast, while Vice Chair Editha I. Alcantara delivered a message acknowledging partnerships and institutional continuity over the past 70 years.

Looking ahead, the Group said it is entering a new phase with third-generation leadership taking a more active role. Its subsidiaries, including Alsons Dev, continue to pursue developments focused on long-term community outcomes across Mindanao.

“For us, the future is about continuity with purpose,” said Miguel Rene A. Dominguez, president and CEO of Alsons Dev. “We are committed to building responsibly, sustaining what has been achieved, and growing it with the same integrity and care that defined the generations before us.”

Seventy years since its founding, the Alcantara Group said it remains focused on sustainable growth and long-term operations as it moves into its next chapter.
