The Philippine Army’s Joint Task Group (JTG) 7-2 discovered a food cache belonging to the dismantled Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (KRGL) at Sitio Diamut, Barangay Nonong in the town of San Luis, Aurora, on 15 December 2025.
According to the report sent to Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, PA, Commander of the 703rd Infantry (AGILA) Brigade, the said security operations was conducted as part of the AFP’s sustained campaign to prevent the resurgence of insurgent activities and to preserve hard-earned peace gains in Central Luzon.
The operations was the result of reconnaissance patrol conducted by troops from the 91st Infantry Battalion, 84th Infantry Battalion, 70th Infantry Battalion, 69th Infantry Battalion, and 71st Infantry Battalion.
The said operation was in coordination with the 72nd and 73rd Division Reconnaissance Companies of the 7th Infantry Division, together with the 80th Infantry Battalion and the 22nd Division Reconnaissance Company of the 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
As a direct result of the operations, troops recovered food items believed to have been intended to sustain the operational and survival requirements of the dismantled KRGL, namely: two 30-liter blue containers filled with rice grains; and two 7-liter Wilkins containers filled with white sugar.
The capture of these supplies significantly disrupts any remaining efforts of the dismantled KRGL to regroup, conduct sustained movement, or rebuild support systems.
General Osias said that by denying access to essential logistical resources, Joint Task Group 7-2 further weakens the operational capability of insurgent remnants and reinforces the improved security posture of Aurora Province.
