Almost 23,867 delegates from all over the Asia-Pacific region were in attendance during the opening ceremony of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional (APR) Scout Jamboree held at Camp Zambales in Botolan, Zambales, on 15 December 2025.

According to the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), there are around 19,150 scouts participating in the jamboree, along with 2,378 unit leaders, 1,115 contingent management teams, 327 adult supporters, 897 international service teams, and 441 international delegates from 19 countries.

With the theme ‘Be Prepared: Scouts for Peace and Sustainable Development,’ this year’s Jamboree highlights the vital role of Scouting in shaping responsible, service-oriented, and environmentally conscious citizens, in line with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023–2028 and the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Camp Chief and Zambales Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr. said that scouts should cherish this event, as it would become a lasting moment in their lives. He added that being part of the scouting community prepares one for future challenges, especially during these challenging times.

Ebdane cited that the event is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s goal of Kabataan para sa Bagong Pilipinas, which prepares the Filipino youth to become future leaders of the Philippines, steering the country toward a better tomorrow.

Running from December 14 to 21, the weeklong event brings together over 23,000 participants from Asia-Pacific countries and around the world, providing opportunities to camp outdoors, participate in structured and meaningful activities, and forge lasting friendships among Scouts from diverse cultures.

The BSP cited that the event also promotes leadership development, cultural exchange, and environmental awareness, helping mold young people into responsible global citizens.

“As the largest non-formal youth educational organization in the country with over 3.5 million members, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines remains committed to empowering young people to become active citizens and future leaders through programs that develop character, responsibility, and positive social change, making Scouting a truly transformative experience,” the BSP stated.

“To the President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., our Chief Scout, we thank you for your steadfast support of Scouting as a vital partner in youth development, citizenship, and nation-building. Also, the various national government agencies who helped make this event possible, through Administrative Order No. 33 issued by no less than the Chief Scout,” BSP National President Atty. Emilio B. Aquino said.

Aquino said that the BSP is focused on developing character, leadership, and active citizenship through outdoor education and community service, with millions of members operating under its own charter.
