The 2nd Air Force Wing Command led a “Wings Christmas Community Development” relief mission over the weekend, delivering gifts and essential food packs to more than 200 Aeta Indigenous People (IP) children and families in Sapang Bato, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Colonel Michael Romero, who led the mission, stated that the effort was a joint initiative with the 2nd Air Force Wing Reserve, the 2nd ARCEN, and Class Salimbay 2025. The teams distributed toys, gifts, and food packs, including 5 kilos of rice per family, to 100 Aeta IP children and 100 Indigenous families.
“This effort reflects our deep commitment to uplift marginalized communities, spread joy during the holiday season, and bring meaningful support to our countrymen wherever they are,” said Romero, a Philippine Air Force reservist.
The relief initiative is part of Romero's broader humanitarian efforts and he has been recognized for his extensive work with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), particularly through the Association of Reservists and Reservist Administrators of the Philippines Incorporated (ARRAPI), a key partner in civil-military operations and disaster response.
ARRAPI now boasts more than 5,000 trained reservists nationwide ready to provide humanitarian assistance.
Through his ongoing efforts with ARRAPI, Romero continues to champion a vision of service and nation-building, aiming to ensure that even the most remote and underserved communities feel supported and valued.
