Jeopardy has a double meaning for a man from Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

The word turned out to be a fortune for Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena. He joined the popular trivia game show of the same name and won twice in two episodes in November 2024, taking home a total $44,698 in cash prizes, according to TV Insider.

DeSena joined another episode of the TV game show in January, winning $10,000, according to WRAL.

The other meaning of the word is literally misfortune as the 42-year-old guy was arrested on 1 December for alleged voyeurism. DeSena was charged with two felony counts of secret peeping in October through hidden cameras that he allegedly put up inside a victim’s bathroom and bedroom, WRAL reports.

Meanwhile, a Florida man’s shenanigans were exposed by daring cops to arrest him.

Christopher Musick, 57, was suspected of posing as a “fake real estate investor” in Volusia County and of being behind a large-scale mortgage fraud scheme, according to a news release from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VSO).

His home in Daytona Beach gave police impetus to arrest the suspect after seeing his doormat. A photo taken by an officer showed the words woven in the rug: come back with a warrant.

“After interviewing Musick, VSO Financial Crimes Unit detectives established probable cause to execute a search warrant at his residence, thereby satisfying the doormat’s request,” the VSO said, according to the New York Post (NYP).

Musick was arrested on 2 December. Based on the charge sheet, he allegedly took out mortgages against properties he claimed to own using fake documents and he bought properties that he rented out, keeping the rental proceeds without paying the loans, according to NYP.

Musick is facing charges of fraud, forgery, and theft of more than $100,000.
