Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Thursday dismissed as fake news a supposed memorandum circulating online that claimed government work would be suspended on 26 and 29 December 2025.
Recto denied the authenticity of the alleged Memorandum Circular No. 47.
The falsified document, which bore a forged version of Recto’s signature, spread on social media earlier in the day.
The bogus MC 47 claimed that an “extended break” had been declared for all government offices “to support the emotional and social wellness” of government workers. However, the Palace emphasized that Executive Secretary Recto did not issue any order suspending work on those dates.
26 December 2025 (Friday), and 29 December 2025 (Monday), are regular working days and are not included in the official list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2025.
Government employees are advised to await official announcements from the Palace and disregard unverified documents circulating online.
