BAGUIO CITY — If realized, residents of Baguio and visitors to Camp John Hay could soon see cable cars inside the camp.
John Hay Management Corporation President Manjit Singh Reandi said the development of a conceptual framework for the project is underway. He said the corporation wants to implement a cable car system because of the significant positive impact it could have on the community, particularly in easing heavy traffic congestion.
Reandi acknowledged the project would not be easy to execute and could take several more years before a comprehensive plan is finalized. He said several companies are already interested in partnering with JHMC, and some have been conducting a feasibility study since last year.
Earlier, several JHMC personnel traveled to Japan to study existing cable car systems. Reandi assured that the project’s implementation would involve minimal tree cutting or environmental impact.
