Some P1.8-million worth of illegal mosquito coils were confiscated at Warehouse No. 3, Ilang-Ilang Compound, Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Marilao, Bulacan, on 21 November 2025.

In a belated report by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the Bulacan Field Unit and local police units executed a search warrant for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9711 (The Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009) at the aforementioned location.

The operation resulted in the arrest of four suspects and the confiscation of 1,843 boxes of alleged unregistered household urban pesticide “Wawang” mosquito coils, valued at P1,843,000.00.

A report that reached Police Major General Robert Aa Morico, the Acting Director of CIDG, stated that the four male suspects—identified as Gabriel, Charlie, Rafael, and Jackie—were caught for possession and control of the alleged illicit household urban pesticide “Wawang High Quality Mosquito Coil."

The suspects are all of legal age, warehouse employees, and residents of Bulacan.

Authorities also confiscated five trucks used in transporting the said unregistered products.

Morico emphasized that, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009,” the manufacture, importation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, or transfer of health and food products without authorization from the proper authority is prohibited.
