Stop violence against women campaign

Mallgoers passing by the tunnel witnessed the lighting ceremony for the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, observed from 25 November to 12 December. The campaign extends the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and carries the national theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines.” This year’s campaign also commemorates the 21st anniversary of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (Anti-VAWC) Act of 2004 (RA 9262), reaffirming the country’s commitment to ending violence and discrimination against women and girls. The ceremonial lighting, one of the official kick-off activities, will feature the illumination of SM malls and landmarks nationwide in orange, the official color of the UNiTE campaign symbolizing hope and a future free from violence.
