The public does not need a legal treatise to recognize when a case appears to be losing momentum.

The Romanov lesson isn’t about revenge. It’s about what happens when institutions fail and only force is left.
Legal counsel for former President Rodrigo Duterte, Nicholas Kaufman, denied online rumors that Duterte was found unconscious in his cell at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
“I would like to state, in no uncertain terms, that the information circulating on the internet suggesting that former President Duterte was found unconscious in his cell this morning is totally untrue,” he said.
Kaufman added that he and Duterte discussed the ICC’s decision on their appeal for interim release, which is scheduled for 28 November at 10:30 a.m., according to the ICC website.
“I have just spoken to him, and he is stoically awaiting the judgment of the ICC Appeals Chamber on the matter of interim release,” he said.
