Team Philippines set for Thailand’s TGR Asia eSports GT Championship

Toyota Motor Philippines has tapped Victor Ancheta, Enzo Ison and Matthew Ang to represent the country in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia eSports GT Championship 2025.

The competition will be held live on 23 November at the Toyota Alive Space in Bangkok, with the event streamed on Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 6 p.m.

The three racers topped more than 250 participants in the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship held from September to October.

Hailing from Baguio City, 25-year-old Victor Ancheta showed that he has what it takes to stand among seasoned players even as a newcomer. He placed third in the qualifiers, and fifth in the quarterfinals and semifinals. His consistency in all three races in the national finals would place him first overall.

A resident of Lubao, Pampanga, 15-year-old Enzo Ison is the youngest member of Team Philippines but packs the most experience. He was the Junior Class Champion in 2022 and 2023, and overall 2nd Placer in 2024. With Asia Finals experience under his belt, Ison topped the local qualifiers and quarterfinals, was third in the semifinals, and came out second in the national finals.

A previous Asia Finals participant, 23-year-old Matthew Ang from Makati City is back with more grit and ready to face his previous competitors head on. He was the Promotional Class 2nd Placer in 2022, and the overall 3rd Placer in 2023. This season, Ang placed second in the qualifiers, quarterfinals and semifinals, and finished third in the national finals.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing eSports GT Championship continues to provide Filipino sim racers a platform to sharpen their skills. Since 2020, Toyota Motor Philippines has held the event, offering top performers a pathway to real-life racing through the TGR Philippine Cup.
