The private sector will play a key role when the country welcomes international business groups in 2026 during the regional bloc’s summit.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos recently met with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (BAC) to plot the participation of local private firms in the crucial meet.

“Had a productive meeting with the ASEAN-BAC as we gear up for the Philippines’ ASEAN chairship in 2026,” she said.

Mrs. Marcos said businesses from neighboring countries will convene in the Philippines to highlight potential market growth across the region.

“Next year, we’ll be welcoming businesses from all over the region — entrepreneurs, innovators and industry leaders who are passionate about creating new opportunities and uplifting communities,” she said.

Jobs moment

“It’s our moment to promote jobs, build meaningful collaborations, and proudly showcase the remarkable talent we have here at home,” she added.

The First Lady also revealed the venues for the economic and tourism summits.

The Asean Economic Ministers Meeting will be held in Manila, while the Asean Tourism Forum will be held in Cebu.

Mrs. Marcos extended her appreciation to the BAC for their help with the upcoming Asean Summits.

“Wishing our private sector partners all the best. Thank you for your dedication and for walking with us as we navigate a stronger, more inclusive future together,” she said.
