There was a bit of a chill in the air, as the families and children gathered along 5th Avenue in BGC, right across from Bonifacio High Street Central. All their eyes were drawn to the giant Christmas tree peeking out from behind the Dream Gate, waiting for the moment it would come alive in lights.
Keeping the crowds entertained were stilt walkers and jesters, all dressed up in red and gold. As the music started to play, Santa Claus and his magical guides stepped out to welcome the guests who came to join the evening's festivities. Ballerinas and acrobats then pranced about to regale the crowd with dances and tricks.
At just the right moment, a cool breeze swept across the area, signaling it was time to light up the tree. Santa Claus stepped back on to the stage to call his guardians to hand the golden keys over to their special guests. Once the gates were opened and the walls came down, a resplendent Christmas tree was revealed, adorned with candies, gingerbread, snowflakes and bows. Completing the tableau were gingerbread houses all around.
Before long, a crowd began to gather, excitedly waiting for their turn to take a photo, and capture a snapshot of a memory in front of a Christmas tree in the heart of BGC.
