Super Typhoon ”Uwan” left at least P185.4 million in damage to power facilities, with more than 1.28 million member-consumer-owners still awaiting reconnection.
At a media briefing on Saturday, Energy Undersecretary Felix William B. Fuentebella, who chairs the Task Force on Energy Resiliency, confirmed that the data from the National Electrification Administration only accounts for initial estimates submitted by19 electric cooperatives (ECs).
Meanwhile, 40 ECs remain under monitoring during the ongoing state of national calamity.
According to Fuentebella, only Mountain Province Electric Cooperative remains under a total power interruption.
Other heavily affected cooperatives have already shifted to partial power interruption status as restoration crews—supported by Task Force Kapatid—continue repair efforts across devastated areas.
Fuentebella, however, noted that full restoration timelines will depend on access to damaged sites and the pace of clearing operations.
