GoTyme Bank has partnered with Wise Platform, a global payment infrastructure provider, to simplify and speed up international money transfers for over 7.8 million Filipino customers.
The collaboration makes GoTyme Bank the first Philippine partner of Wise Platform, and Wise’s first International Receive partner in the Asia-Pacific region, a move expected to significantly improve remittance services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.
Through this integration, GoTyme Bank customers can now receive money from more than 11,000 banks across 23 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and SGD, directly into their GoTyme accounts. The system ensures faster settlements, full fee transparency, and real-time tracking, addressing long-standing concerns about hidden charges and slow processing times in traditional remittance channels.
Remittances are a cornerstone of the Philippine economy, with OFWs sending more than US$38 billion annually, accounting for a major share of the country’s GDP. However, according to Wise research, Filipino consumers lost an estimated US$170 million (P9.7 billion) in 2024 alone to hidden transfer fees.
With this new feature, GoTyme Bank users can receive funds seamlessly via the app, share account details with senders abroad, and withdraw remittances for free at over 1,400 Robinsons Retail partner stores nationwide. The service operates 24/7, providing convenience and accessibility for families across the country.
“Our collaboration with Wise is about creating a trusted remittance experience that feels effortless,” said Nate Clarke, President and CEO of GoTyme Bank. “By pairing Wise’s world-class technology and global network with GoTyme Bank’s simple, beautiful banking, we’re redefining how Filipinos support their families, grow their ambitions, and stay connected to what matters most.”
Wise Platform APAC General Manager Samarth Bansal described the partnership as a major step forward in modernizing money movement across borders. “Payments coming over SWIFT have faced hidden charges and slow speeds. With this partnership, GoTyme Bank becomes the first bank in the Philippines to change this trend,” he said.
By combining GoTyme’s digital accessibility with Wise’s global infrastructure, the partnership sets a new standard for remittance innovation in the Philippines — making cross-border transactions faster, more secure, and more transparent for millions of Filipinos who depend on overseas income.
