Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, is marking its 10th anniversary by highlighting the people who helped shape the company over the past decade. Instead of focusing solely on project milestones, AIC is recognizing team members across its business units whose work has contributed to what it describes as “building better ways to live, work, and connect.”
Through the campaign “10 Years of AIC: Stories from Our Trailblazers,” employees reflected on what they consider defining moments in the company’s growth, including major airport, water, and bulk supply infrastructure projects developed over the past 10 years.
Senior Assistant Vice President for Airport Strategic Partnerships Aines Librodo said her journey at AIC has come “full circle.” She cited the 2023 recognition of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) as Asia’s Best Airport for Airport and Destination Marketing as a key milestone following challenges brought by the pandemic and Typhoon Odette.
“There’s a deep sense of pride in knowing that every new airline and every new flight we launch builds air bridges that reunite families, open opportunities, and turn dream destinations into reality,” she said.
MCIA, currently operated by AIC’s Cebu Airport Corporation, remains the country’s largest international aviation hub outside Metro Manila and holds a Skytrax 4-Star Terminal rating.
At Batangas’ LIMA Estate, LIMA Water Corporation Regulatory Planning and Compliance Manager Maria Clarissa “Cla” Isla reflected on her six-year tenure at the company. She said the culture and camaraderie of colleagues have made the workplace feel “like home.”
“I take pride in the meaningful impact our products and services have on the communities we serve,” she said, recalling LIMA Water’s recognition by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as an Environmental Testing Laboratory in 2020.
In Davao, Apo Agua Infrastructura Administration Supervisor Cecil Rose Yu highlighted her work on the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, which delivers 300 million liters of water daily. The project supports an estimated one million residents across the city.
“Every achievement we celebrate is not just a product of individual effort, but of teamwork, trust, and a shared mission to make a real difference in our communities,” Yu said.
For Vice President for External Affairs Percival Vincent “Vince” Tan, teamwork was central in securing AIC’s first airport public-private partnership (PPP) for Laguindingan International Airport.
“Never lose hope, never give up despite the odds stacked against you. It's always a team effort here, which always has your back,” he said.
Other employees, including planners, airport operations leaders, and human resources managers, echoed the importance of agility, openness, and purpose-driven work culture.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay open—to learning, new ideas, and unexpected opportunities,” said P&C Senior Manager Mariz Rivera. “You advance when you stay willing to learn and take on what’s next.”
AIC said the stories underscore how the company intends to continue shaping infrastructure development with a focus on community impact and collaboration as it moves into its next decade.
