Pampanga evacuates over 1,000 residents ahead of Super Typhoon #UwanPH

A total of 341 families, or 1,008 individuals, have taken shelter in evacuation centers following the preemptive evacuation order issued by the Pampanga provincial government on Saturday.

According to Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, the early evacuation aims to ensure the safety of residents in low-lying and coastal areas in the province.

The Vice Governor is currently overseeing the situation at the PDRRMC Command and Control Center this Sunday as Super Typhoon Uwan continues to affect the country.

In coordination with the PDRRMO, the provincial government is conducting 24/7 monitoring of areas at high risk for flooding and possible landslides.

Pineda also directed the PSWDO and GSO to distribute food, drinking water, sleeping mats, blankets, and other basic necessities to evacuees.

Pampanga Police Provincial Director PCOL Eugene Marcelo, Chief of Staff to the Vice Governor Angie Blanco, PSWDO Officer Fe Manarang, and PDRRMO Chief Janica Yambao are also monitoring provincial conditions.

Pineda emphasized that the provincial government will ensure that assistance reaches all affected residents.

“No Cabalen will be left behind as Super Typhoon Uwan hits Pampanga,” he said.
