The provincial government, national agencies, and local government units in Aurora are continuing full-scale disaster operations as Super Typhoon “Uwan” approaches on Sunday, 9 November 2025.
According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) Engr. Amado Elson A. Egargue, the entire province has been placed under Red Alert Status.
Local governments have begun preemptive evacuations, the prepositioning of relief goods, and other precautionary measures to ensure the safety of communities, particularly those in coastal and low-lying areas.
Governor Engr. Sid Pimentel Galban assured that the Provincial Government of Aurora, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), has prepositioned relief supplies in high-risk zones in preparation for the expected impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.
Among the assistance distributed are the following:
DSWD Family Food Packs
Dilasag – 3,000 packs
Casiguran – 1,500 packs
Dinalungan – 1,000 packs
PGA Family Food Packs
1,310 packs for the DICADI area
Additionally, 60 bottles of 6-liter water from Angat Bayanihan–Aurora (Angat Buhay - Aurora), led by Vice Governor Atty. Patrick “Pat” Angara, were distributed to Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan.
PSWDO, PDRRMO Aurora, the Provincial Equipment Pool Office (PEPO), and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) are coordinating efforts to ensure efficient delivery of assistance.
Mobile kitchens from DSWD Region and Wi-Fi communication equipment from DICT Region have also been deployed to support food distribution and maintain communication lines during the storm.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard – Aurora Station has ordered the temporary suspension of all sea travel for all sea-going vessels.
Engr. Egargue urged the public to follow the guidance of local authorities.
“Huwag maghintay ng malakas na ulan at hangin bago lumikas. Makipagtulungan sa mga awtoridad at sundin ang mga abiso upang manatiling ligtas. Ipinagbabawal ang lahat ng paglalayag, paglangoy, at iba pang aktibidad sa tubig hanggang sa lumabas ang bagyo sa Philippine Area of Responsibility,” he said.
Rivers, tributaries, and flood-prone areas across the province are currently under close monitoring. The DOST-PAGASA Storm Chasers Team also conducted a field survey and post-validation in Baler to evaluate conditions before and during the typhoon’s expected landfall.
