The Romanov lesson isn’t about revenge. It’s about what happens when institutions fail and only force is left.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III led the formal turnover ceremony for the new Senate Mobile Clinic on Wednesday at the Senate Grounds.
The mobile clinic, donated by the Department of Health (DoH), is intended to provide accessible medical services, offering essential health consultations, diagnostic services, and emergency care to remote and underserved communities.
The unit is equipped with an X-ray machine, blood testing facilities, and other diagnostic tools, serving as a medical unit on wheels under the Senate Public Assistance Office.
Sotto stressed the significance of the project as part of the Senate’s commitment to public service that extends beyond legislative duties.
“This project embodies our commitment to public service that goes beyond the walls of the Senate,” Sotto said. “The Senate mobile clinic will bring healthcare closer to the people, particularly the underserved areas.”
The Senate President added that the clinic is “not just about bringing the equipment closer to the people, it’s about bringing hope, compassion, and the assurance that public service is alive and mobile.”
The facility will also provide daily medical support to employees, officials, and visitors of the Senate, and is ready to respond to medical emergencies in and around the building.
