Christmas came a month early this year as government employees are expected to receive their year-end bonus (YEB) and P5,000 cash gifts this month, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said.
According to the DBM, the year-end bonus and cash gift will be released in the first agency payroll in November.
“The DBM is one with the President in ensuring that our public servants feel the warmth of our Bagong Pilipinas. We value the diligence and efficiency of our public servants, which is why we ensure that their benefits are provided on time,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
“We know how much government personnel look forward to this time of the year not just because it’s the season of giving, but because it’s a well-deserved recognition of their service and sacrifice,” she added.
1-month equivalent
For 2025, P63.69 billion was allocated for year-end bonuses for civilian and uniformed personnel. The P9.24 billion, meanwhile, was earmarked for the cash gift, which covers 1.85 million government workers nationwide.
The bonus is equivalent to one month of basic pay as of 31 October, DBM said and the P5,000 cash gift is given annually for the hard work and dedication of government employees who have rendered at least four months of service beginning 1 January and are still in the government as of October.
The DBM has reminded all agencies to release the bonuses promptly and in accordance with existing budget circulars.
