In the historical film Quezon, Therese “Teri” Malvar portrays the fictional Nadia Hernando, the goddaughter of President Manuel L. Quezon,
who was hired to make propaganda material to support his reputation during his campaign. In real life, Teri is a well-known actress and movie producer. She is one of the producers of the West Philippine Sea documentary Food Delivery. With roots in the Rizal and Malvar clans, Teri has a very distinguished family history. She descended from Miguel Malvar’s eldest son, Bernabe Malvar. The youngest sister of Jose Rizal, Soledad Rizal-Quintero, had a daughter named Amelia Quintero, who Bernabe married. In addition, Bernabe Malvar served as Quezon’s chief of staff.
