More than 1,000 residents of Tarlac province received free medical services, laboratory tests and medicines on Monday as part of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos’ “Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot para sa Lahat” (Lab for All) project.

The medical mission, held in the town of La Paz, marked the third province to benefit from the First Lady’s pilot health program, following similar events in Batangas and Baguio City.

“My husband said we must bring medical services to the people instead of waiting for them to come to our hospitals and healthcare centers,” Araneta-Marcos said at the event. “That is why I am here today to fulfill his promise. The ‘Lab for All’ project hopes to provide free laboratory consultation and medicines to everyone in the Filipino community.”

The provincial government of Tarlac confirmed that more than 1,000 Tarlaqueños received the free services.

Governor Christian Tell Yap called the ‘Lab for All’ project a crucial health service program from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the First Lady.

“We are very lucky to have an occasion like this attended by our guest of honor, our beloved First Lady — First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, who is also a Tarlaqueño,” Yap said, expressing thanks for her support.

Meantime, Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap also extended her gratitude for choosing Tarlac as one of the pilot beneficiaries.

“Health is one of our biggest programs here in the province. Hence, we are most grateful for your visit and for holding this medical mission for Tarlaqueños,” she said.

The medical mission is a collaboration between the Office of the First Lady and several government agencies, including the Department of Health, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

In addition to free consultations and medicine, beneficiaries also received family food packs from the DSWD. Other services provided during the event included the Kayang-Kaya Serbisyo Caravan from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Negosyo 3M (Mentorship, Money, Market) program, and the Go Negosyo initiative.
