Filipino historical biopic Quezon, starring Jericho Rosales and Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen, will begin its international rollout later this month.

Screenings are scheduled for Australia and New Zealand on 30 October, followed by North America, Guam and Canada on 31 October. Viewers in the Middle East can catch the film starting 20 November.

Additional countries and dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Set during the turbulent period leading up to Philippine independence, Quezon chronicles the political rise of Manuel L. Quezon, who would go on to become the first president of the Philippine Commonwealth. The narrative explores Quezon’s political maneuvering during the 1935 elections, his alliances and rivalries, and his confrontations with American Governor-General Leonard Wood, as well as Filipino political figures Sergio Osmeña and Emilio Aguinaldo.

The film features a large ensemble cast including Benjamin Alves as the young Quezon, Mon Confiado as Aguinaldo, Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, and Karylle as Aurora Quezon. Also appearing are JC Santos, Jake Macapagal, Angeli Bayani, Jojit Lorenzo and Therese Malvar.

Producer Daphne Chiu-Soon described the film as “a world-class production made for the big screen,” emphasizing its appeal not only to Filipino audiences worldwide but also to fans of political and historical cinema.

“We’re thrilled that Quezon will finally be seen by Filipinos around the world — and not just by the Filipino community, but also by fans of historical and political cinema,” she said.

International distribution is being handled by ABS-CBN International, which has secured exclusive theatrical rights in key overseas markets. TBA Studios noted it has received significant interest from international distributors.

Quezon marks the final installment in TBA Studios' so-called “Bayaniverse” trilogy, which includes the box-office hit Heneral Luna (2015) and the critically acclaimed Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018).

The project was produced with support from the Film Development Council of the Philippines and CreatePHFilms.
