In a move to further elevate corporate governance, the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) has introduced a new category under its annual GCG Awards ceremony — the Leadership Award.

The award pays tribute to outstanding appointive members of GOCC Governing Boards who have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, strategic vision, and governance excellence in their role; as well as, whose exemplary performance, significant contributions and remarkable accomplishments in public corporate sector have resulted in improvement and enhanced development in the GOCC, its stakeholders and communities.
