Behind Sean Ramos’ calm and collected exterior is a quiet fire — the kind of confidence that doesn’t shout, but makes you stop and take notice. Much like a BMW, there’s a mix of elegance and raw performance in the way he carries himself: smooth, steady, but always ready to shift into another gear.
Whether he’s walking the fairways or behind the wheel, Ramos has that same quiet dominance — the kind that turns composure into strength.
It’s no wonder, then, that BMW tapped the 21-year-old pro as its first celebrity golf endorser in the Philippines — a partnership that just feels right.
“Sean represents what BMW is known for — confidence and consistency,” said RSA Motors president Jacob Ang during a media briefing on Thursday at the BMW showroom.
“We’re impressed with his steady rise and unwavering performance,” added Ang, himself a 24-year-old race car driver turned golfer.
BMW, after all, has long been part of golf’s global story — from the BMW Championship on the PGA TOUR to its signature events in Europe and Asia, the brand has powered the sport’s growth from the pros to the grassroots.
Now, with Ramos on board, BMW is marking what could be its biggest swing yet — its entry into the Philippines’ booming golf scene.
As part of the partnership, Ramos will be behind the wheel of a BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport, his ride to and from Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club when he tees it up at the International Series Philippines later this month — the country’s biggest international golf event in three decades.
Two weeks out, Ramos is brimming with quiet confidence. His driving has been sharp, his ball-striking precise — everything seems to be clicking.
“It’s just a question of knowing where to position the ball on the fairway off the tee,” said Ramos, fresh from a practice round at Sta. Elena with his girlfriend Laurea Duque, herself a touring pro.
For tournament week, Ramos will team up with a seasoned caddie from the Navy Golf Club.
“What Sean needs is a full-time caddie who can assist him better,” Duque said with a smile, stepping aside from her supportive caddie role this time.
Breakout performances
Ramos has been quietly putting together a breakout season. He began the year with a strong showing at the Asian Tour Qualifying School, earning his 2025 regular card after a string of confident rounds — a milestone that opened doors to major events like the Philippine Open and the Jakarta International Championship.
In Jakarta, he delivered a career-defining performance, firing rounds of 68-67-68-70 to finish inside the top 20 at seven-under, highlighted by laser-straight driving and near-flawless ball control. It was the kind of week that put his name on the radar of both local and regional golf watchers.
Earlier, he also finished top 22 at the International Series Morocco and made the cut at the Philippine Open, solidifying his reputation as one of the country’s most consistent young pros.
Numbers that back it up
Statistically, Ramos has been rock-solid all season. He ranks among the leaders in fairways hit at premier events, backed by clutch putting and calm under pressure. His ability to stay composed on weekends — when the stakes rise and greens get faster — shows maturity beyond his years.
Still early in his professional journey, Ramos’ steady climb up the Asian Tour charts suggests there’s much more to come. With BMW in his corner and momentum on his side, the young pro is poised to take his next big leap — one measured not just in distance, but in drive.
