Philippine national women's football team captain Hali Long banners a 26-woman pool that will take on Uzbekistan in a friendly match on 29 October at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Filipinas head coach Mark Torcaso said facing the No. 52 Uzbeks will be a good gauge for them heading into future international tournaments, including the AFC Asian Cup in Australia on March.
The match will cap a 10-day camp in Manila as FIFA Women's World Cup veterans Olivia and Chandler McDaniel, Sara Eggesvik, Meryll Serrano, Katrina Guillou, Jaclyn Sawicki, Angie Beard, Jessika Cowart, and Sofia Wunsch join the pool.
“The game against Uzbekistan is a great challenge, as they have also qualified for the Asian cup and they are a very tough opponent," Torcaso said.
Completing the Filipinas' pool are Inna Palacios, Nina Meollo, Madison Ayson, Rhea Chan, Janae Defazio, Nya Harrison, Kaya Hawkinson, Bella Pasion, Emma Tovar, Ava Villapando, Alexia Blanco, Malia Cerdon, Carleigh Frilles, Nina Mathelus, Dionesa Tolentin and newcomer Isabella Villaflor.
