CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police in Central Luzon intercepted over P941,000 worth of illegal drugs in back-to-back sting operations this week, arresting three suspects in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija, the Police Regional Office 3 confirmed Friday.
In Guiguinto, Bulacan, anti-narcotics operatives collared a 29-year-old alleged high-value dealer, alias “Botong,” during a midnight raid in Barangay Malis on October 10. Officers seized six kilograms of suspected marijuana, valued at P601,000, hidden in a residential compound.
Hours prior, in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, undercover agents apprehended two men (“Bry,” 35, and “Fel,” 49) after they allegedly sold 50 grams of shabu (P340,000) in Barangay Maestrang Kikay. Marked cash and drug paraphernalia were recovered.
PRO3 Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. credited “precision intel work and inter-unit coordination” for the successes.
“These operations reflect our non-negotiable stance against drug trafficking. We’re tightening the noose, expect more arrests as we deepen ties with communities,” he said.
Peñones added that PRO3 plans to expand K9 patrols and surveillance in drug hotspots while collaborating with local governments to dismantle supply chains.
The suspects face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
