Phoenix formally appointed Willy Wilson to serve as its head coach in the coming 50th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
The Fuel Masters made the announcement on Friday, saying that the 45-year-old Wilson will be replacing Jamike Jarin as head coach after serving as his long-time deputy.
On the other hand, Jarin, who replaced Topex Robinson when he was appointed as De La Salle University head coach in 2023, will serve as team consultant.
It’s going to be an exciting opportunity for Wilson as he inherits a team that has rising stars like Ricci Rivero, Raffy Verano, Kai Ballungay and Sean Manganti as well as veterans RJ Jazul and RR Garcia.
They also have the second overall pick in the coming draft set on 7 September.
