Trece Martires City Mayor Gemma Lubigan addressed the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) recent five-minute response drill, clarifying her whereabouts during the exercise held in line with the 124th Police Service Anniversary at Camp Crame.
In an official statement, Lubigan said she was at her residence when the drill took place because she was in the middle of an official meeting with constituents and stakeholders to discuss matters crucial to the city’s governance.
“I was at my residences meeting with constituents and stakeholders on official matters. This is part of the work I do every day as a City Mayor,” she wrote on social media.
The drill was led by PNP Director for the National Capital Region Police Office Gen. Nicholas Torre, alongside President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, a former Cavite governor, who requested Lubigan as the subject to demonstrate the revitalized PNP Emergency 911 Command Center.
Body camera footage from a police officer showed that Lubigan was not in her office at the city hall, prompting Torre to direct the unit to proceed to her house.
“Si Mayor na lang mabagal e,” Torre remarked during the exercise.
Lubigan had earlier told reporters she continues working even when outside her office.
