The Philippines' ASEAN Women's Championship title defense crumbled after Myanmar forced a 1-1 draw at the Lach Try Stadium in Haiphong, Vietnam on Wednesday.

Burmese team captain Win Theingi Tun calmly sank a penalty kick in the 33rd minute for a 1-0 lead.

Nina Mathelus sparked some hope in the 71st minute for the Filipinas after converting a left-foot volley off a cross from Adelaide Wyrzynski.

The Philippines, who were playing without veterans Sarina Bolden, Katrina Guillou, Meryll Serrano and Sara Eggesvik, failed to score in the remaining minutes of the match as it suffered an early exit.

With a 1-1-1 win-draw-loss record in Group B, the Filipinas finished in third place and will miss the knockout stages.
