On the glittering stage of Okada Manila, under the dazzling lights and before a crowd of beauty enthusiasts and environmental advocates, Joy Barcoma of Bacoor stood poised and radiant. It was the final round of the Miss Philippines Earth 2025 coronation night—a moment where eloquence, conviction, and presence would determine the fate of the crown.
Each of the Top 5 finalists faced the same challenge: answer a thought-provoking question while wearing noise-canceling headphones until their turn. The question was clear yet weighty: “How would you utilize the platform of Miss Philippines Earth to make a positive impact in the community?”
When the headphones were removed and the microphone was placed in her hand, Joy delivered her answer with unshakable confidence and grace:
“For twenty-five years, Miss Philippines Earth has been at the forefront of environmentalism.
If I am to become a queen of the Miss Philippines Earth organization, I would like to evoke eco-consciousness to the youth.
Make smart innovations and inclusive investments in the Philippines for us to be able to move forward.
Because I’d like to prove that we are not just the women of the earth—we are also women of the future.”
Her words resonated beyond the stage. It was not just an answer—it was a vision. With a commanding blend of advocacy and optimism, Joy positioned herself as not only a steward of the environment but also a leader ready to shape a sustainable future.
