The Philippines' title defense is in peril after it absorbed a 0-1 loss to Australia's U23 squad in the ASEAN Women's Championship at the Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho, Vietnam on Sunday.

Alana Jancevski shook off Azumi Oka as she blasted a goal in the 45+1 minute for the lead and eventually, win for the Matildas.

It turned out to out to the the only goal of the match as the Filipinas weren't able to answer in the second half.

The Philippines, which has a 1-0-1 win-draw-loss record in Group B, must win against Myanmar when they clash on Wednesday at the Lach Trey Stadium in Haiphong to advance to the knockout stages.

Only the top two teams per group will reach the semifinal.
