GWM Philippines has set a new benchmark for itself, closing July 2025 with its strongest sales month since entering the local market. The company, distributed by Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc. (LAGI), reported a 22 percent jump in sales compared to June, signaling growing interest in its expanding lineup of pickups, SUVs, and electrified models.

While GWM did not release exact sales numbers, the brand credited its upward trajectory to several factors: competitive pricing, regular sales promotions, a growing dealer network, and a model range that appeals to both lifestyle buyers and practical motorists.

“This milestone is more than just a number. It’s a clear signal that Filipino consumers are recognizing the value and potential GWM has to offer in terms of quality, performance, and value,” said Dax Avenido, GWM Philippines brand head and marketing director. He added that the achievement reflects the hard work of the company’s team nationwide, and that this is “only the beginning” for the brand.

GWM officially entered the Philippine market in mid-2023 and has since been building its presence through a steady stream of new model launches and dealer openings. Its lineup now includes the Ora city electric car, the hybrid-powered Haval Jolion and H6, the Tank 300 SUV, and the new GWM Cannon pickup truck. The Cannon, which recently underwent a demonstration run on a drift track in Pampanga, has been positioned as a versatile work-and-play vehicle with modern features and competitive pricing.

In a move that could help maintain its sales momentum, GWM confirmed that prices for the new Cannon lineup will remain unchanged despite the recent excise tax adjustments that pushed up the prices of many pickup trucks in the market. The Cannon Lux+ 4×4 AT remains at P1.48 million, while the Cannon SLux+ 4×4 AT is still priced at P1.68 million. Select variants are also available for as low as P58,000 all-in down payment.

GWM says the decision to keep prices steady reflects its commitment to providing accessible ownership options while delivering strong value for money. The company also highlights the Cannon’s 7-year or 200,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, along with extended warranties for the powertrain, as added assurance for buyers.

Looking ahead, GWM is planning a busy second half of the year. The company is preparing new product launches, nationwide roadshows, and lifestyle events to engage with more Filipino car buyers. These efforts are aimed at not only sustaining the brand’s growth but also positioning it as a long-term player in the country’s competitive automotive market.

Avenido expressed optimism about the months ahead, saying the combination of new offerings and strong after-sales support will help cement GWM’s position in the Philippines.

With a record-setting July behind it and several big plans on the horizon, GWM appears to be shifting into higher gear, ready to take on the next leg of its journey in the Philippines.
