Embrace eGovPH app, Marcos urges public

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday encouraged Filipinos to fully embrace the eGovPH app, describing it as a user-friendly platform designed to be as simple to use as social media sites like Facebook.

The eGov Super App consolidates multiple government services into a single online platform, effectively serving as a virtual one-stop shop to make transactions faster and more convenient for the public.

According to Marcos, he directed the team to simplify its design during the app’s development so that even those unfamiliar with technology could use it with ease.

“I told the team that they must simplify it. It should be as easy as using Facebook,” Marcos said in Episode 3 of the BBM Podcast, aired recently.

A government study estimates that 89 million Filipinos use Facebook.

“If a Filipino can use Facebook, then they can also utilize the eGov app,” Marcos said, adding that no special tutoring is needed to access its services.

The eGovPH app links together various government functions into one mobile platform, aligning with Marcos’ directive to improve public service delivery and eliminate outdated, in-person procedures.

“Because that’s the only way to do it. You cannot operate in 2025 using the brick-and-mortar application forms that need to be filled out in offices,” he said.

“Don’t go to the office anymore. For older people and those not very familiar with computers—even grade school students already know how to do this,” Marcos added.

The President reiterated his goal of expanding online transactions, arguing that the Philippines must achieve a higher level of digitalization to remain competitive globally.

“It’s absolutely imperative now that children know how to use a computer, they know how to use the internet, and they know how to do work on the internet. It’s no longer possible not to. It’s not an option anymore,” Marcos said.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology reported last month that the newly launched eGov app has more than 14 million unique users.

Currently connected to around 70 government agencies, the platform allows Filipinos to renew driver’s licenses from home in under ten minutes, apply for e-Visas, use e-Travel for faster arrivals, and access other public services without physically visiting government offices.
