A pair of braces from Quinley Quezada and Inday Tolentin powered the Philippines to a 7-0 win over Timor Leste to kick-off their ASEAN Women's Championship campaign at the Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho, Vietnam on Thursday.
Quezada buried two goals in the seventh and 32nd minutes while Tolentin did damage in the 57th and 64th minutes as the Filipinas are on top of Group B with a 1-0-0 win-draw-loss record with a +7 goal difference.
Goals from Aaliyah Schinaman (second minute), team captain Hali Long (9th), and Adelaide Rosalinda Wyrzinski (75th) added their names on the scoreboard as the Philippines are playing without veterans strikers Sarina Bolden and Katrina Guillou, who are out due to injuries.
The Philippines will face the Australian U23 squad on Sunday, 10 August, at 8:30 p.m. (Manila time) at the same stadium.
