After being removed from office for imposing martial law, former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol still faces other charges and is awaiting trial at a detention center near Seoul.
Yoon remains defiant, though, protesting his detention and resisting questioning by investigators in a bizarre way.
When investigators came to fetch Yoon from his detention cell on 1 August, he refused to go with them. To prevent them from forcing him out of the cell, he stripped down to his underwear. Assistant special counsel Oh Jeong-hee said Yoon also lay down on the floor.
Justice Minister Jung Sung-ho said the ex-leader put his shirt and shorts back on after the investigators left, CBS News reports.
Meanwhile, a man caught the ire of traffic authorities and the mayor when they saw a video of him doing a dangerous dance.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Region 6 and Mayor Raisa Treñas sought the man for dancing on top of a moving tricycle on the Diversion Road in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, on 31 July, GMA News reports.
Although the dancer had a helmet on, wearing only underwear was considered a distraction to motorists by LTO Region 6 Director Guidioso Geduspan lI.
After the incident was widely reported on TV, the dancer and the trike driver voluntarily showed up at the police station. The topless dancer explained he was just imitating a stunt he saw online.
The LTO, however, is considering punishing the two, including banning the trike driver from the road.
