TCL has strengthened its commitment to workforce development in the Philippines through a landmark partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), marked by the launch of the TESDA-TCL Center on 31 July 2025 in Taguig City.
Located at the TESDA Complex’s CCI Hub, the newly inaugurated facility is fully outfitted with state-of-the-art TCL equipment and is designed to train highly skilled, job-ready Filipino workers in the field of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR). The project is in collaboration with TESDA’s Regional Training Center-NCR.
The launch was attended by key TCL executives – Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez, Deputy Director for Marketing Shae Yu Xiaoling, and Deputy Director for Air Conditioner and B2B Business Bert Cheung – alongside TESDA NCR Regional Director Engr. Jovencio Ferrer, Jr., District Director Maria Gracia dela Rama, and Center Administrator Eugene Agcaoili.
Agcaoili emphasized the significance of the partnership in bridging education and industry demands.
“The donation of these TCL appliances and equipment will not only strengthen our HVAC training programs, but will also provide our trainees with direct exposure to advanced technologies that meet global industry standards,” he said.
“More importantly, this collaboration is a testament to what we can achieve when the public and private sector work hand-in-hand for a common purpose – empowering Filipino communities and building a competitive workforce.”
The training facility will utilize TCL’s latest technologies – including their newly launched voice-controlled air conditioners – aiming to give students practical experience aligned with modern industry trends.
Cheung highlighted TCL’s long-term vision:
“We aim to provide students with more than just equipment. We are offering real-world training, mentorship from our service experts, and a clear path from education to employment. This partnership aligns with TESDA’s National Workforce Development Agenda and supports a strong technical talent pipeline.”
TCL Brand Manager Cernitchez added that the collaboration goes beyond a one-time donation.
“This is end-to-end. We equip the training center, train TESDA’s trainers, and help graduates transition to employment by recommending them to our partner dealers. We want to bring the full spirit of ‘enrollment to employment,’” he emphasized.
