The Philippine national women's football team announced the appointment of Riccardo Marchioli of Australia as the new assistant coach last Friday.
Marchioli will be the newest addition to the coaching staff after former deputy Andrew Durante resigned last July.
Marchioli is currently the head coach for Hume City FC in the National Premier Leagues Victoria and worked as an international football scout for the United States women's football team.
“We would like to welcome a new and valuable addition to the Filipinas’ coaching staff, Riccardo Marchioli. Riccardo’s unique blend of experience – from contributing to an Olympic gold medal to his hands-on success in building and transforming football programs – is exactly what we need as we continue our ambitious journey," Philippine Football Federation president John Gutierrez said.
"His understanding of high-stakes environments and his commitment to cultural excellence will be a tremendous asset to the Filipinas."
