First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, on Wednesday, graced the opening of his designer-friend Michael Leyva’s atelier at The Peninsula in Makati.
She couldn’t contain her excitement over her friend’s latest achievement.
“So proud of my dear friend, Michael Leyva, on the opening of his gorgeous new atelier at The Peninsula Manila!” she wrote on social media.
Several public figures joined Mrs. Marcos in the event, such as Senate President Francisco “Chiz” Escudero, Makati City Mayor Nancy Binay, and Kris Aquino’s eldest son Joshua.
According to the First Lady, Leyva doesn’t just design gowns but makes women “feel secure, strong, and stunning.”
“Every piece you create is a tribute to Filipino talent and heart,” she said.
Beauty, confidence, dreams
Mrs. Marcos revels in Leyva’s new space where women can come together and celebrate artistry.
“Here’s to a space where beauty and confidence and dreams all come to life,” she said.
Part of the display in the atelier is the stunning red Filipiniana gown worn by Mrs. Marcos during her husband’s fourth State of the Nation Address.
For his part, Leyva thanked Mrs. Marcos for her support.
“[I love you so much] po [ma’am], thank you very much po for believing in me,” he said. “Salamat po (Thank you) for always supporting Filipino talent”.
