Alex Eala won’t be making the Cincinnati Open from 7 to 18 August at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio due to a shoulder injury.
The Women’s Tennis Association announced the development as Eala will now focus on her recovery.
Eala’s left shoulder was heavily taped back at the Canadian Open where she suffered a 6-3, 1-6, 2-6 loss to Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic last Monday at the IGA Stadium in Montreal.
Should she recover, Eala will focus on competing at the Monterrey Open from 18 to 23 August at the Club Sonoma in Monterrey, Mexico.
