The National Housing Authority (NHA) has implemented a one-month moratorium on amortization and lease payments for its housing beneficiaries nationwide, providing relief to families affected by the southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones “Crising”, “Dante” and “Emong.”
NHA general manager Joeben Tai announced Friday that guidelines for the moratorium, detailed in NHA Memorandum Circular No. 2025-141, were immediately issued. The moratorium will automatically apply to all NHA housing beneficiaries across the country from 1 to 31 August 2025.
During this period, no delinquency interest or penalties will be imposed. The collection of amortization and lease payments, along with any additional charges, will resume on 1 September 2025.
Tai said the moratorium aims to offer crucial relief to families residing in NHA project sites, many of whom are still recovering from the physical and economic aftermath of the recent typhoons. He noted that the temporary suspension allows them to focus on rebuilding their homes and lives without the added burden of payment obligations.
