Power restoration is still ongoing in parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), even as power and fuel supply in the rest of the country has returned to normal.

The Department of Energy (DOE) said Monday that localized power outages remain in areas served by Benguet Electric Cooperative, Mountain Province Electric Cooperative, and Abra Electric Cooperative.

As of this morning, 37 out of 51 affected municipalities have been reenergized, restoring electricity to 5,487 customers, or 72.55 percent of those impacted.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and actively assisting our local distribution utilities,” said Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin.

“We urge all concerned entities to continue proactive clearing operations, including the removal of debris and vegetation that may obstruct power lines, to accelerate restoration in affected areas.”

Garin also reminded the public to take precautions during continued rains.

“Residents are urged to avoid downed power lines, report energy-related hazards immediately, and cooperate with local authorities to ensure safety,” she said.

The DOE added that any flooding affecting power lines or circuit breakers must be reported immediately to local distribution utilities.

Elsewhere in the country, the DOE said all on-grid and off-grid power plants are operating normally, including the Balatubat Diesel Power Plant in Camiguin Island, Calayan, Cagayan, which was restored on 19 July. All National Power Corp. plants in Mindanao are also fully operational.

The DOE also confirmed that oil supply remains stable nationwide, with all downstream oil and gas facilities running at full capacity.
