Chocolate lovers and cacao advocates gathered at Balar Events Place in Boac on 21 July 2025 for the Marinduque Cacao Fair, a one-day celebration of local innovation and craftsmanship in time for World Chocolate Day.
Spearheaded by Ani ng Duque Agricultural Cooperative, with support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Marinduque and the Marinduque Cacao Council, the event aimed to promote the province’s cacao industry and recognize the contributions of local farmers, entrepreneurs, and food innovators to the growing Philippine chocolate sector.
The fair featured more than 18 exhibitors from across the province, showcasing a wide array of cacao-based products — from traditional tablea to artisanal chocolate-infused pastries, wellness goods, and specialty beverages. Among the products on display were creations from Island Harvest Farm PH, 10 y.o. Cafe, Casa John Donuts & Coffee, Chinggay’s, and Doughboy’s.
Aside from booths, the event also hosted live demonstrations, a barista challenge, and product tastings, drawing guests from nearby towns, other provinces, and young entrepreneurs eager to explore cacao’s potential.
Organizers say the fair highlights the expanding role of Marinduque’s cacao community in developing world-class chocolate while preserving local traditions and supporting farmers.
