Strong Group Athletics (SGA) defeated the National Basketball League 1 (NBL 1) Rising Stars of Australia, 91-75, for its fourth straight win in the 44th William Jones Cup at the at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City on Wednesday.
Andre Roberson led the squad with a double-double game of 16 points and 12 rebounds as SGA remained undefeated since last Sunday.
Four more players also scored double digits as SGA played with a complete team for the first time with Kiefer Ravena making his return to the squad after a prior commitment with the Jordan Brand in Athens.
SGA had an explosive second quarter that turned a slim 26-21 lead into a 47-30 advantage in halftime.
Head coach Charles Tiu said they have played their best game offensively with Ravena back in the roster.
“This was our best offensive game of the tournament. Guys played well—another game where multiple guys in double digits," Tiu said.
“Glad to have Kiefer back who is really my extension on the court. One of the smartest guys I’ve coached definitely. Makes things easier.”
Ian Miller scored with 12 points, six assists, and a steal, while Tajuan Agee chipped in 12 markers and 11 boards after returning from injury.
Ange Kouame added 11 points, six rebounds, and a steal while Dave Ildefonso contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists for SGA.
Mac Stodart led the NBL 1 Rising Stars with 19 points while former University of the Philippines star James Spencer had 11 points as they dropped to a 2-3 slate.
SGA will next face Chinese Taipei-B on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the same venue.
