New cast of characters in Kathryn Bernardo-Mark Alcala’s Australian trip

After being seen separately at the airport counter while being bound for Australia, Bernardo was said to be headed for Melbourne to shoot some scenes with James Reid, her new leading man in a project.

Alcala, it was rumored, was headed to the opposite direction, Sydney.

Interestingly, Bernardo is poised to see her best friend, fashion and beauty vlogger Arisse de Santos who migrated to Melbourne. The Kapamilya actress even organized a surprise despedida party for De Santos in 2019 which was attended by Bernardo’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla and close friend Dominic Roque.

Later, we learned that mayor Alcala’s sister, Graciel Dawn Victor Alcala, who is  also in Australia now, is an Instagram mutual with de Santos.

In last Monday’s column, we shared how Bernardo came to know Alcala and it was because the Kapamilya actress’ stylist, Justine Benitez, is a cousin of Alcala.

Right timing

For singer Klarisse de Guzman, right timing was what made her reveal an unknown facet of her personality — that she’s a bisexual and is in a relationship with a woman.

In last Monday’s Star Magic Spotlight mediacon Mowm Klarisse de Guzman was queried about her decision to come out and admit who she really was.

“Nung time na ‘yun hinintay ko talaga ‘yung right time.. ‘yung tamang panahon para sabihin ‘yun. Na feel ko na ‘yun na talaga ‘yung moment na sabihin na,” she said (That time, I was really waiting for the right time.. the right time to say that. I felt that was the right moment to say it).

The singer did not think of any think other than reveal who she really was. All that was important to her was to finally tell the whole world about her sexuality.  “Nangingibabaw sa akin yung happiness. Sabi ko bahala na kung tatanggapin ako sa labas. ‘Yun ang pini-pray ko, na sana mahalin pa rin nila ako, hindi magbago tingin ng mga sumusuporta sa akin sa labas,” she said. (Happiness in me prevailed. I said, come what may if they will accept me outside. That’s what I’m praying for, that they will still love me, that those supporting me outside will not change).

In the end, De Guzman is happy with what she did and did not regret admitting that she’s a bisexual.

‘Rico what?’

Maris Racal and some cast members of Sunshine like Elijah Canlas and Meryll Soriano recently guested Rainbow Rumble.

In  an ’80s trivia question, host Luis Manzano asked: “Kumpletuhin ang hit song ng ’80s American pop group na Breakfast Club: Rico (blank).” 

Even before Manzano could complete the question, Racal immediately tapped the sensor.

“What? Rico, what?” came Racal’s confused question which had the audience boisterously cheering.

Manzano’s quick response was: “Maris, hindi siya, ah.” (Maris it’s not him).

With that, Soriano was able to answer right: Rico Mambo.

What was Racal thinking? Rico Blanco, her ex?

Despite her blunder, Racal came out as the ‘Winning rumbler of the night and was just a cube away to win the P1 million pot money.
