Public service begins with the capacity to deliver — and the time to deliver is now.
This was the clear message of the Department of the Interior and Local Government to newly elected provincial leaders during the introductory course under the Newly Elected Officials (NEOs) Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service Program.
DILG Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo Iringan who led the lecturers for the course that started this month and will run until August for ll local officials nationwide, said voters did not choose leaders based on promises alone — but on the hope that those promises would be turned into action. These include critical issues such as road and water systems, education, employment, and peace and order.
“Over the next three years, your actions will define how real these promises will become in the lives of your constituents,” Iringan said.
