LOS ANGELES — Manny Pacquiao promised Tokyo Olympics bronze medal winner Eumir Marcial that he will be the one to train him if the hard-hitting middleweight secures a world title shot.

The Hall of Famer made the promise Thursday as he was winding down his training at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.

He even called Sean Gibbons, Marcial’s official representative, assuring them that he will devote his time making sure the Zamboanga pride is battle-ready.

“Sean, when he fights for the world title, I will be his trainer. I will train him,” Pacquiao said, his right index finger pointing to Marcial.

“I will show you how training should be.”

Marcial looked stunned but delighted by Pacquiao’s vow to act as his chief trainer.

Marcial is undefeated in five professional fights with a 5-0-0 win-loss-draw card with three knockouts.

While he is not yet ranked by the major sanctioning bodies, Gibbons expects him to get that world title try next year.

“Three more fights then we’ll give him a shot at the (world) title,” Gibbons said.

“Train hard because I want you to become very successful. You could earn a lot,” Pacquiao added.

Marcial is seeing action in next week’s main event featuring Pacquiao against World Boxing Council welterweight king Mario Barrios in Las Vegas.

Marcial faces Armando Gaytan in an eight-rounder.

You bet, Pacquiao’s eyes will be on him and Marcial has to produce a big performance.

If not, Pacquiao will be the most disappointed person in the whole wide world.
