Makati to withdraw consent to subway deal, file motion before Singapore tribunal

They announced that the new city administration is withdrawing its consent to the previous local government’s Settlement Agreement on the controversial P8.96-billion Makati Subway Project. A formal motion will be filed before the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) on July 11. A fact-finding commission has also been formed to investigate alleged irregularities in the subway deal and other PPP agreements.
