Three-time Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medalist Bien Zoleta banners the national squash team which will compete in the Poland Cup from 4 to 9 July.
Zoleta will be one of the veterans competing in the 10-man squad in their first international competition of the year.
Zoleta told DAILY TRIBUNE that the Polish tilt is one of their preparations for the Asian Championships in Mungyeong, South Korea from 13 to 23 September.
“This is our opening tournament for the year. It is our major tournament before the Asian Championships in September in Korea,” Zoleta said in a phone conversation.
“We hope to have a good performance this tournament,” he added.
Joining Zoelta are Princess Catindig, Christy Sañosa, Bea Ebriega, Shyryn Salazar, and rookie Airies Nuguit.
Meanwhile, Joseph Arcilla captains the men’s squad which comprises Patrick Mendoza, Adjuthor Moralde II, Sherwin Nuguit and Jason Caminting.
