President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for the Philippine Air Force (PAF), emphasizing its crucial role in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During his visit to Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Marcos expressed his gratitude and unwavering support for the personnel of the PAF, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their welfare, operational readiness, and mission successes.
He acknowledged the demanding and often perilous nature of military service, assuring the troops that his administration is dedicated to equipping them with the highest quality training, state-of-the-art equipment, and comprehensive healthcare services—for their families as well.
“This is why this government is highly, highly supportive of all that our men, women, and even our civilian support groups are doing for the country,” Marcos said in his Talk to the Troops.
He highlighted the need to ensure that pilots, airmen, and all personnel are fully equipped to perform their duties effectively.
“We must continue to make sure our troops, our airmen, our pilots, our staff are all supported properly so you can do your jobs properly,” he said.
He assured the troops the commitment is not a one-time thing but is long-term to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
“Rest assured this is not only for now. This will continue because the challenges that we are facing will not end right away,” Marcos said.
He urged the Air Force to remain focused on their mission, emphasizing the crucial role of the Air Education and Training Command in developing skilled and disciplined personnel prepared to handle any situation that may arise.
“I know that you are all well-trained, well-equipped, and all very willing and able to continue in your duty to protect the Philippines,” he said.
